Spotlighted here is the Tudor Home. What my clients love about their Tudor homes is the architectural charm. The Tudor style took root in the United States in the mid-1800's as a revival of Medieval domestic architecture. Distinguishing features include the steeply pitched roof, often with multiple overlapping, front-facing gables of varying heights. Common exterior materials include brick, stucco and the unmistakable half-timbering accents. Windows are often tall and narrow with multiple panes, with the occasional picturesque floating bay windows called "oriel windows" on the first or second story. The relative cost involved in the intricate craftsmanship of these gems gave way to simpler and more affordable housing developments post-World War II.
